Organization

Main Street Lakewood is a program of Lakewood Community Progress, Inc., a 501c(3) organization founded in 2004.  It is a economic development corporation whose vision is to improve the quality of life of residents by creating alliances with community leaders, leveraging community assets and expanding the pool of available resources in order to facilitate economic stability and growth in the City of Lakewood.

In late 2005, Lakewood became an Ohio Main Street Community .  This designation means we are committed to a proven, disciplined approach to revitalizing our historic downtown area. Main Street Lakewood is defined as the commercial district along Detroit Avenue bounded by Bunts Road on the east end, and Arthur Avenue on the west.

Lakewood Community Progress Inc is currently funded through the generosity of  corporate and individual community members and by Community Block Grant Funds allocated by the Citizens Advisory Committee for the City of Lakewood.
